Nevada is a hot desert state and the rules are fairly reasonable with 35% front sides and any darkness allowed on all rear glass. The unrestricted rear windows on every vehicle type make it easy to go as dark as you want where it matters most for heat rejection. Las Vegas summers are brutal and tint is essentially a comfort necessity, not just an aesthetic choice.

Your car's factory glass already blocks some light (usually around 70-80% VLT). When you add tint film, the combined VLT is lower than the film alone. For example, 35% film on 75% factory glass gives you about 26% combined VLT. The calculator above does this math for you.
