On Sierra trucks, the service parts identification sticker is usually inside the glove box. On the Yukon, Terrain, and Acadia, it's on the driver's door jamb. The sticker is packed with RPO codes. Look for the row labeled "U" to find your paint code.
If the sticker has been removed or is unreadable, any GMC dealer can pull the code from the RPO database using your VIN.
GMC is a General Motors brand, so it uses the same WA paint code system as Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Buick. On the service parts identification sticker you'll see a code next to "U" (upper body) and sometimes "L" (lower body for two-tone). Codes are 3 to 6 characters like GAN (Summit White), G1W (White Frost Tricoat), or GBA (Onyx Black).
The Sierra 1500 is the most common GMC model with two-tone paint. If your truck has a different color on the lower body or bumpers, you'll see both U and L codes on the sticker. Make sure you write down both.
Not every GMC puts the code in the same spot. Here's where to look for each model:

Yes. GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Buick all use the same GM paint code system. Code GAN (Summit White) is identical across all GM brands.
U is the upper body color and L is the lower body color. Single-color trucks only have a U code. Two-tone trucks have both. If you need touch-up paint, make sure you're ordering the right code for the area you're repairing.
RPO (Regular Production Option) codes cover every feature on the vehicle, from engine type to seat material. The paint code is just one of many RPO codes on the sticker. It's the one next to "U" for your body color.
