On most Honda cars the paint code sticker is on the driver's door jamb. It's a small plate or label, not the big VIN sticker. Look for a code that starts with NH, YR, B, R, G, or W followed by a dash and numbers.
On some older Hondas (early 2000s and earlier) the code can be on the firewall in the engine bay or on the passenger side door jamb. The Ridgeline sometimes has it inside the driver's door frame closer to the hinge.
Honda paint codes are longer than most brands. They follow a prefix-number-suffix format like NH-731P or B-588P. The prefix tells you the color family: NH means grays, blacks, and silvers. YR is golds and beiges. B is blue. R is red. G is green. W is white.
The suffix letter at the end tells you the finish type. P means pearl, M means metallic, and no suffix means it's a solid color. So NH-731P is Crystal Black Pearl (black family, pearl finish) and B-588P is Still Night Pearl (blue family, pearl finish).
This system has been consistent since the late 1990s. If you're buying touch-up paint, the full code including prefix, number, and suffix is what the paint shop needs.
Not every Honda puts the code in the same spot. Here's where to look for each model:

NH is Honda's code for the neutral/dark color family. It covers blacks, grays, and silvers. For example, NH-731P is Crystal Black Pearl and NH-883P is Platinum White Pearl. The P at the end means pearl finish.
Driver's door jamb. Look for a small label with a code starting with letters like NH, B, or R followed by a dash and numbers. It's separate from the main VIN sticker.
Honda packs a lot of info into the code. The prefix (NH, YR, B, R, G) tells you the color family. The number is the specific color. The suffix (P, M) tells you the finish. It's longer but more descriptive than most brands.
Yes. Both brands use the exact same code system. NH-883P (Platinum White Pearl) is the same formula on a Honda CR-V and an Acura MDX. Any paint supplier can match either brand.
P stands for pearl. M stands for metallic. If there's no letter at the end, it's a solid (non-metallic) finish. This matters when ordering touch-up paint because the application is slightly different for each finish type.
