Mazda paint codes are 2 to 3 characters like 46V (Soul Red Crystal), 38P (Deep Crystal Blue Mica), 25D (Snowflake White Pearl), or 41W (Machine Gray Metallic). They're printed on a sticker on the driver's door edge or jamb, labeled "COLOR".
Mazda's color lineup is compact but each color is carefully formulated. Soul Red Crystal (46V) is a multi-layer paint with a clear coat, translucent red layer, and reflective undercoat. This is why Soul Red touch-ups can be tricky and sometimes need a body shop rather than a DIY pen.
The suffix letter gives a hint about the finish. V and P tend to indicate special finishes (crystal, pearl), while W and M suggest metallic. Solid colors might end in a number only.
