Start with the driver's door jamb. That's where most modern Nissans (2010+) have the sticker. If it's not there, check the passenger side B-pillar, the firewall in the engine bay, or the inside of the driver's door itself. Nissan is notorious for moving this sticker around between models.
On the Altima and Sentra it's almost always on the driver's door jamb. On the Frontier and older Pathfinder, check the firewall. On the Rogue, try both the door jamb and the B-pillar.
Nissan paint codes are 3 characters, usually a mix of letters and numbers. You'll see codes like QAB (Brilliant Silver), KH3 (Super Black), or RAY (Scarlet Ember Tintcoat). The format has been consistent across Nissan models for over 20 years.
What makes Nissan different from most brands is the sticker location. Instead of one standard spot, Nissan puts the color code sticker in different places depending on the model and year. The driver's door jamb is most common, but it could also be on the firewall, under the hood, or on the passenger side B-pillar.
Not every Nissan puts the code in the same spot. Here's where to look for each model:

Nissan puts the sticker in different locations depending on the model. Check the driver's door jamb first, then the passenger B-pillar, the firewall under the hood, and the inside of the driver's door. It's there, it's just not always in the same spot.
Driver's door jamb on most model years. Look for a plate with your VIN and a 3-character code. On some older Altimas it can be on the firewall inside the engine bay.
QAB is the paint code for Brilliant Silver Metallic. It's been one of Nissan's most popular colors for years, available on the Altima, Rogue, Pathfinder, and most other models.
Yes. Nissan and Infiniti use the same 3-character code system. QAB (Brilliant Silver) and KH3 (Super Black) are the same formula on both brands. The code is tied to the color, not the badge.
