Open the driver's door. On the door jamb there's a white sticker with the VIN and parts info. Look for a row labeled "C/TR". The first value after "C/" is your 3-character paint code. The value after "TR/" is your trim code. Don't mix them up.
On older Toyota trucks like the Tacoma and Tundra (pre-2010), the sticker can also be on the passenger side of the engine bay firewall. Check both spots if you can't find it.
Toyota uses 3-character paint codes. They're a mix of numbers and letters like 1G3 (Magnetic Gray Metallic), 3R3 (Barcelona Red Metallic), or 040 (Super White). You'll find them on the driver's door jamb sticker in a row labeled "C/TR" where C is the exterior color and TR is the interior trim.
The first character in a Toyota code usually hints at the color family. Codes starting with 1 tend to be grays and silvers. Codes starting with 3 are often reds. Codes starting with 0 are whites and blacks. It's not a hard rule, but it helps when you're scanning the list.
Toyota and Lexus share the same code system. If you find a color you like on a Lexus, the same 3-character code works at any Toyota paint supplier.
Not every Toyota puts the code in the same spot. Here's where to look for each model:

C stands for Color (your exterior paint code) and TR stands for Trim (your interior code). The 3 characters after "C/" are what you need for touch-up paint.

Yes. Both brands use the same 3-character code system. Code 1G3 (Magnetic Gray) is the same formula on a Toyota Camry as on a Lexus ES. Any paint supplier can match either brand with the same code.
040 is Super White, one of Toyota's most common colors. It's a non-metallic solid white that's been in the lineup for decades. If your code is 070 instead, that's Blizzard White Pearl, which is a different color with a pearlescent finish.
Yes. Any Toyota dealer can pull your paint code from the VIN in their system. Just call the parts counter with your VIN and they'll tell you the code in a few minutes.
